Ross Thompson

Originally from Vancouver Island off the west coast of Canada, Montréal-based designer, Ross Thompson, is a textile artist who has created designs for some of North America's largest retailers. Seeking to pursue an alternative path from the world of mass-produced goods and wishing to infuse a more human approach and personal touch into his work, Thompson began creating his own line of hand-screened cushions in the Spring of 2007.  Thompson's designs are based on his rich and colorful experiences traveling and living in different cultures, photographs he has taken, and images that have inspired him. His process combines the rich, tactile qualities of fine-art printmaking techniques with innovative conceptual designs. His final pieces, printed on 100%  natural fabrics including hemp, organic linen and raw silk, are sublimely luxurious.
