Anonum

British Columbia, Canada

Founded in 2010 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Anonum is a design studio and manufacturer of accessories made from used printing blankets. It was started by Olivia Buhren, who noticed that rubber printing blankets used to print newspapers, catalogues and labels, are left with a unique image of their last print -- a bus schedule, a tomato soup label, or even a hockey scene. When the excess ink has been cleaned off, a clear impression of the last print run is visible giving this durable and utilitarian material an interesting graphic dimension. Buhren lines the printing blankets with brightly coloured felt before she cuts and sews the final patterns.

Anonum takes great pride in its designs and the high-quality of its products. Buhren and her team are always searching for new and creative ways to give a second life to unusual materials -- always insisting on superior functionality and unique design.
