Corita Rose

England

Corita Rose is a textile design company based in Dorset, England. It was established in 2009 by textile artist Caroline Ritchie and her husband, Joshua Ritchie. Together with local craftsmen, they create printed textiles, which they make into unique and spectacular cushions, curtains and upholstered furniture.

Caroline's designs are printed primarily on cotton velvet. They are rooted in her love of colour and pattern and take inspiration from folklore, influenced by various world cultures from Romany to India to South America to Medieval Europe. The celebration of life is at the core of her ethos and she believes that her textile designs, which translate into rich fabrics with strong imagery and vivid colours, can bring an added dimension to interiors.

Designs vary from traditional pattern repeats to small and large-scale individually designed panels of fabric and are used to create truly individual pieces that cross the boundaries between statement furnishing and art. In all cases, Corita Rose pieces enhance their surroundings through the bold use of colour, graphics and scale.

Pieces are handmade in the United Kingdom using natural products.
