Lisa Krowinski started Sapling Press in 2003 while living and working as a graphic designer in Baltimore. When she moved to Pittsburgh in 2005, Sapling Press became her full time gig. After a few years off to have kids, she re-entered the greeting card circuit in 2010, armed with a brand new design aesthetic and a lot more focus.
At Sapling Press, Lisa spends her days making things: letterpress printed stationary, prints and greeting cards. All her pieces are printed in her studio in the Southside neighbourhood of Pittsburgh. Her days are spent sitting behind a desk and standing behind a press. Some days she says she feels like a rock star and other days, not so much, but she prints because she loves it.
