West Paw Design is an eco-friendly manufacturer of high-quality pet gear. Starting with certified organic cat nip in 1996, the small Montana company has continually added recycled, recyclable and organic material to its growing mix of wares.
Inspired by a pair of socks made from recycled plastic fibres, Spencer Williams, West Paw Design's president, worked with suppliers to source Interlliloft -- a fibre created from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic soda bottles -- to fill stuffed pet beds. Since 2006, they have diverted over 4.03 million plastic bottles from landfills. This is significant because bottles continue to accumulate in landfills and oceans adding to problems like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch that is conservatively estimated to be larger than the state of Texas. West Paw Design is driven by a responsibility to make environmentally sound choices in its Montana manufacturing facility through the processes that it uses everyday.
